An ice creamery, fruit shop, newsagent and hairdressing salon are among the businesses Daily Liberal readers would like to occupy retail spaces in Dubbo Hospital's new front of house.

They have enthusiastically made wish lists on this newspaper's Facebook page after learning that three shops are part of the state government's $150 million stage three and four redevelopment of the hospital.
Late last week Health Infrastructure advised that retail spaces were included in the redevelopment because of feedback from staff and the community during planning of the under-construction Macquarie Building.

Andrew McDonald Commercial Dubbo has been calling for expressions of interest for the shops with 5pm Thursday the deadline for them to be received at the agency.
Mooted occupants of the shops have included a café, florist, gift store or pharmacy with readers seeing the merit of having them at the hospital.
"A good coffee shop would be nice," wrote Geoff Kiehne.
"..with space to sit and take a moment to have that coffee," added Adi Christiansen.
A "decent-sized area for visitors and patients to sit and have a meal and a cuppa, especially patients from outside Dubbo", was Carol Maybury's suggestion.
Hayley Corby would like to see "a convenience store that isn't overpriced".
Susie Porch was all for a convenience store "for out-of-town people who leave with nothing in an emergency".
Other ideas included the establishment of a postbox and a shop selling products for newborn babies.
Health Infrastructure reports that "revenue generated from the leasing of retail space will support the running of Dubbo Hospital".
