Donations were made to the family as balloons were filled with helium.
They later appeared on residential mailboxes, fences and businesses in memory of seven-year-old Mitchell who died from cancer on December 6.
On the Mitchell Blasts Neuroblastoma Facebook page, Mrs Ray has thanked Regional Gas staff.
"We couldn't believe they raised so much, and we're thinking about using some of that money on a cubby house for the kids, they all loved the one in Ulladulla so much," she said.
Mrs Ray said it had been "lovely seeing everyone's balloons for Mitchell".
The little boy's funeral will be held at St Brigid's Catholic Church on Thursday from 11am.
The Ray family has asked mourners to wear bright colours.
Mitchell's favourite colours were red, yellow and orange.
"Should have a stream/recording for those who can't attend," Mrs Ray said on Facebook.
