Sweltering summer days are not the most conducive conditions to learning. That's why I'm so pleased to announce that students and staff at Dubbo College Senior Campus and Dubbo Public School will be the next to benefit from the NSW Government's $500 million Cooler Classrooms program.

NEW LINE CLOSER
A long-awaited rail-line between Gulgong and Maryvale is a step closer with the release of a feasibility study showing positive economic benefits!
The proposal will now progress to design and planning stage to complete the 72km missing link, which has the potential to make moving freight between the central west and the east coast easier, reducing journey times and connecting produce and products to new markets.

- $500,000 for carpark extensions at Glen Willow Sporting Complex

TEN YEARS ON
Last week marked 10 years since flooding over the Emile Serisier Bridge brought Dubbo to a halt. The city ground to a standstill as every car, bus, bike and truck tried to cross the Macquarie River using just one bridge. That's why we need the River Street Bridge.
A high-level bridge at Troy simply doesn't solve this issue, as it directs traffic further out of town and puts a flood between that bridge and the city - a nightmarish scenario.
A bypass is a separate issue and in all likelihood will be needed in the future, however recent reports commissioned by Dubbo Regional Council are adamant that such a project isn't necessary at this point in time.
