Michael Davis told the Daily Liberal he arrived at his Studio 138 on November 26 to find someone had forced entry.
Even more upsetting was when he discovered a guitar with great sentimental value had been taken.
I bought it with some money that my mum left me when she passed away.

"I bought it with some money that my mum left me when she passed away," Mr Davis said.
"And I'd written on it, to her, because she'd died not long before my birthday.
"I'd written on it that she still hadn't missed a birthday."
Also taken was an instrument belonging to a musician friend.
"So that was terrible that got stolen as well, they're without their bass guitar," Mr Davis said.
The long-time Dubbo resident took to social media appealing to the public for help to get the guitars back.
The post was shared scores of times, with Mr Davis appreciating the support.
"It's good people out there feel that this sort of behaviour is not acceptable," he said.
"But it seems to be the way of the world at the moment.
"I don't know what to say, I think they were kids, I think they took what they could carry easily and got in and out as quick as they could, but there's obviously no boundaries on ownership... they just go and do what they want to people."
The break-in is a downer after what has been a busy first year for Studio 138, a multi-purpose creative studio in the city's CBD. Two projects it's been involved with have been short film Together Apart and the music video for Indistinct Chatter's recording of Rising Sun.
The guitars were taken sometime between midnight on November 24 and 8.30am on November 26, Mr Davis said. He urged anyone with any information about the guitars to message the studio's Facebook page.
"Let us know that you know of them and know where we can find them, particularly the one I got from my mum, which has got writing, painted writing all over the back of it," he said.
"I really don't know how anyone can do anything with it because even if they rub the writing off that's going to leave some kind of mark that the writing's been there.
"But if you see it, it's got blue paint pen on the back of it, and it's the one I miss the most."
