Just after 12.30pm, a blue Ford sedan was involved in a pursuit after allegedly failing to stop on the Kamilaroi Highway in Breeza, near Walgett.
The Ford allegedly reached a speed of 240km/h in a 110km/h zone before the driver, a 20-year-old woman, stopped and was arrested by police.
Checks revealed the woman is the holder of a learner's licence that is currently suspended.

The woman was taken to Gunnedah Police Station and charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, drive motor vehicle while licence suspended, Class A motor vehicle exceed speed (over 45 km/h) and police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday.
Two male occupants were also spoken to by police and the vehicle was searched, with police locating methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Inquiries continue.
