It wants residents of the region to take part in a survey by May 1.
The council's manager regional events, Kim Hague, said it was asking for public feedback that would "propel the region's event appeal".

"Council wants you to help us by providing advice and suggestions regarding the types of events residents and visitors would like to see in the local government area, so that we can identify the gaps in our current calendar of events," she said.
If there is an event you would like the region to host, or maybe a newly-created event for the region, we'd love for you to take our survey.

Previous big-ticket events held in the Dubbo region include the Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC clash in 2019, the National Tree Climbing Championships in Wellington in 2018, and Dubbo's annual DREAM Festival.
