The bag contained a substance, which tests showed was methamphetamine, often referred to as ice.
According to a police facts document presented to Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, Mr Bland told police the drug was a gift from a friend.
"I had some from a can when we were jamming, you know, playing music," Mr Bland is said to have told police.
Tests also revealed Mr Bland was driving his car while there was methamphetamine present in his blood.
He pleaded guilty to possessing 0.5 grams of methamphetamine and driving while the drug was in his blood.
Mr Bland was fined a total of $550 for both offences and disqualified from driving for three months.
