Miss Purtell is looking forward to a gap year in 2022, where she has secured a position as a teachers aid at Orana Heights Public School, before she heads off to university in 2023.
She is hoping to embark on her teaching journey in the field of physical education or primary teaching.
Fellow student Tom Coady also had mixed feelings about the exam.
"The first half [of the exam] was pretty good, the second half was quite challenging," he said.
Mr Coady is moving to Sydney to play cricket next year, and is hoping to go to university and study in the field of construction management.
Following the exams, Dubbo College maths teacher Jessica Neill praised the efforts of her students.
"This cohort has faced many unprecedented challenges in their senior years," she said.
"I am incredibly proud of their resilience and their ability to remain focused."
The HSC exams for 2021 will conclude on December 3, with the final exam being food technology.
