The finalists for the Regional Australia Bank Dubbo Chamber of Commerce Rhino Awards were going to be announced at a cocktail night on Friday.
The date was set months before confirmed cases put the city in lockdown on August 11.
On Monday the chamber confirmed that due to current restrictions, the event would not be going ahead as planned on Friday.
"Because of this, we are currently in discussions about the best way to bring this to you and will release a date in the coming week or two, of when we will announce our finalists for the 25th Rhino Awards," the chamber said in a post to social media.
"Thank you for your understanding and we cannot wait to be able to share the good news."
In 2021 the business awards attracted a huge number of nominations, especially in the people's choice categories, chamber president Matt Wright said in early August.
