Nominations and entries only opened last week and Dubbo Chamber of Commerce president Matt Wright reported there had already been a steady flow of nominations.
"And we've seen a couple of entries started already," he said.
In 2021 the Regional Australia Bank Dubbo Chamber of Commerce Rhino Awards will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Entries to the 18 award categories close in one month on August 6, and Mr Wright encouraged businesses to enter.
"Obviously the sooner they start the process, the more time they'll have to complete their entry," he said.
"We often see plenty of businesses get in early and they'll start their entry, and they won't lodge it, they'll just come back to it, add a bit more to it, have a bit more of a think about it, come back to it again, because they can save it and amend it later.
"So if businesses are thinking about it, we do encourage them to jump on to the portal, register and have a look around at some of the award categories, they may find something that takes their interest and their business might be able to fit into that category."
Nominations for the awards can be made via the Dubbo Chamber of Commerce website.
They are free to enter and judging is undertaken by a panel of independent business professionals from outside Dubbo.
The finalists will be announced at a cocktail party on September 17.
The Rhino Awards gala, where the winners will be announced, will be held on October 22.
The theme will relate to the awards' 25th anniversary.
The Rhino Awards were cancelled in 2020 amid NSW's COVID concerns, and instead a Salute to Dubbo Business event was held.
