The Macquarie Cricket Club junior now living in Sydney is experiencing another pre-season with the NSW Breaker squad.
But, as the COVID-19 situation in NSW continues to impact sporting competitions around the state, Hughes admitted training has been difficult at times.
"It is a little bit," she said.
"We are lacking in numbers with a couple of girls because they are in lockdowns but we are still able to train thankfully.
"We are currently training with about five of us are there."

Hughes, along with Orange's Pheobe Litchfield are among the group of rising stars coming through the NSW pathway and now sit firmly in the Breakers squad which features the likes of Alyssa Healy, Rachel Haynes and Ashleigh Gardiner.
The seventh instalment of the Women's Big Bash League is just over a month away and Hughes has a clear goal about what she hopes to get out of her campaign with the Sixers.
"Hopefully, I want to get some more games in," she said.
"I want to play a couple more games with the girls than last season but just to be around them is more than exciting in itself."
The Sixers struggled last season finishing fifth while cross-town rivals the Sydney Thunder took home the title for the second time.
Scheduled to start in mid-October, it is unclear as to where the WBBL season will begin with the competition possibly moving into a bubble situation like has been done with other codes this year.
Hughes is not sure where the matches will be played this season but knows all players will have to adapt to any changes which could occur throughout this year's tournament which is all but likely to move to another state.
"It's all up in the air with the schedules and what will be doing," she said.
"So we aren't too sure whether we are going to go into a hub or not, and where the hub will actually be.
"So, you've sort of got to hedge your bets on that it will happen and you just have to be prepared for it."
After making her Sixers debut last season, Hughes is yet to break into the NSW Breakers side for a Women's National Cricket League match and is hoping to do so during this year's tournament.
"I think in general I would really like to be able to debut for the NSW Breakers," she said.
"And get some more games with the Sixers girls."
Predominantly a bowler, Hughes is hoping to become an all-rounder which would help her slot into the Breakers side during the international summers as NSW boast an impressive amount of depth in their bowling department with former Australian representatives.
"My goals for this year is to become more of an all-rounder,
"I've really been training hard for that so I can cover more roles in cricket teams."
