AFL Central West announced the season was finished on Friday and Demons president Tom Skinner knows it would've been nice to see the club represented in the finals series this year.
"It was a disappointing end to the season after all the effort that went into getting the season up and running," he said.
"Especially while we kept going with washed out grounds and things like plus to COVID-19 challenges throughout the season.
"On the bright side it was good to have as many games as we did because I know a lot of people didn't get that much of a season in.
"Still being able to play finals still be would've been ideals to give us some reward after the season and the effort we did have."

On the bright side, Skinner knows it a bit of relief a decision was made to end the season rather then waiting around for the possibility of a return to play.
"It is good to know where we are and not waiting on week to week," he said.
"With extensions to lockdowns and stuff like that.
"Now we can finalise things like presentations and prepare for next year.
"Hopefully it's bigger and better next year."
This season marked the first time the Demons had fielded three teams in several years after a Tier 2 side finished just outside the finals.
Skinner believes the side was a great addition to the club and gave the chance for casual players to have the opportunity to play the sport.
"It was great having the opportunity for players who wanted to play more casually," he said.
"To have that Tier 2 side and blokes who can't commit every week but want to play and have a bit of fu.
"We had some older blokes as well return like Mick Haley, Trevor Dutchske and Dave Hazell are all over 50 and they had a run.
"It's good for those blokes to be able to throw on the boots and have a run around with the club they love."
While this season may be finished, Skinner already his eyes on next year and even further ahead with a good feeling around the clubs future.
"It's looking good," he said.
"Having Dubbo Junior AFL have a team in every grade as well.
"I think it is the first time Dubbo has had a team in every grade for 10 years or so.
"It's been really good for Dubbo AFL and hopefully we can continue to work together.
"There's now a place for the Under 17s to go and it helps us keep football alive in Dubbo."
