Four new police officers have joined the Orana Mid-Western Police District and have begun their career patrolling Dubbo and the surrounding areas.

Two of the probationary constables have joined the Dubbo Police Station, while one has begun duties at Coonamble and the fourth will join Wellington.
The probationary constables have had their first week on the job, after graduating from the NSW Police academy in Goulburn.

The new recruits will undertake a year of on-the-job training and complete the Associate Degree in Policing Practice by distance education with Charles Sturt University, before being confirmed to the rank of constable.
Orana Mid-Western Police District Commander, Superintendent Danny Sullivan welcomed the new recruits to the region as they begin their policing careers.
"These officers are joining the police force at a challenging time and I'm looking forward to seeing them out on the beat," he said.
The new recruits are part of the graduating class of 182 probationary constables that have joined the ranks of the NSW Police Force.
The group included 121 men and 61 women.
NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said these new recruits were beginning a challenging career at a challenging time.
"The pandemic is impacting many aspects of our lives but as police, we have taken an oath - a promise - to protect and serve the people of this state while exercising the highest level of integrity," he said.
"Despite the challenges ahead, our newest recruits can expect a rewarding career and will have the camaraderie and guidance of their new policing family every step of the way."
Across the region, three new recruits were allocated to the Central West Police District, one to the Central North, two to Chifley, one in New England and two to the Oxley Police District.
