Dr Nina Dowling started at the centre on Wednesday, July 7 and practice manager Colleen Best said she was happy to welcome the newcomer to town.
"We're very excited to have Dr Dowling start with us," Ms Best said.
"She has moved here from Dubbo to be with her partner who works in town and it's wonderful to have a new doctor starting."
Having provided health care to people in Dubbo for a number of years, Dr Dowling said she is looking forward to working in a more rural setting.
"I'm really glad to be here. It's a beautiful practice and a beautiful town, and I'm really excited about my move here," Dr Dowling said.

One of the reasons why Dr Dowling enjoys her career as a doctor is being able to care for those in a range of situations.
"Particularly being a GP, we get to help people at all stages of their lives and through a lot of different issues that they may face," Dr Dowling said.
"It's really rewarding to walk with people on their journey through life and health. I really enjoy the continuity of providing health care for people."
With regional towns across Australia experiencing doctor shortages, Ms Best said recruitment was a tough job.
"We're always looking, rural towns are short of doctors so we're always trying to get doctors to relocate here," she said.
Her appointment means the practice now has four female and 10 male doctors available.
"People always get excited about a new doctor in town and having a female doctor is an extra win," Ms Best said.
"Dr Dowling is available for all medical issues and her being here opens up a few more appointments for people to see someone if they need."
Mudgee Medical Centre are located at 145 Church Street, Mudgee, and are open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.00pm, and on Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 12.00 midday.
