COVID detected in Bourke sewage, residents urged to get tested

The sample was taken on Tuesday, June 22 at a sewage treatment plant which serves an area of about 2000 people. It detected fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19.
NSW Health said there had been no prior detections at the site.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Everyone in the area is urged to be vigilant for the onset of any cold-like symptoms, and to get tested immediately, then isolate if they appear.
Additional testing capacities are being arranged for the local community.
