A NSW State round of the UN Youth Australia Evatt Competition will be held in Dubbo on Friday for students in years nine through to 12.

The Evatt competition is a Model United Nations Security Council diplomacy which invites students to register and compete.
The competition aims to educate students on Australia's place in the world.
The competition also aims to empower students to be active citizens by developing public speaking, negotiation, teamwork, research, and diplomatic skills.
A mock session of the UN Security Council will see the competition underway.
Participating teams will comprise of two students who will then debate, amend, and vote on resolutions from the perspective of an assigned country.
Students received an email with their assigned country two weeks before the round and were encouraged to study their country in the lead up to the competition.
The assigned country can be any one of 15 countries that are members of the United Nations Security Council in 2020.
The most effective diplomats will then be selected to move on to the next round.
Participating students will be required to deliver speeches to the council in a bid to persuade other the teams of their country's point of view.
Competitors will also need to lobby and negotiate, amend the resolution to suit their country's agenda, ask questions of other countries and vote on a resolution.
The competition will run in Dubbo on Friday, May 21 at the Dubbo Scouts Hall.
