Northcoast Productions manager and event coordinator Simon Griffiths said despite hosting the event for over 20 years he's always amazed to see what competitors create.
"Each show there's something that's never been built before," he said.

"We get anything from cars, boats and planes right through to fairies, dinosaurs and unicorns, it's unbelievable the things you get.
"The creations are as wide as the children's imaginations.
"So that's why we don't recommend or set a theme, because we'd be advantaging some and disadvantaging others. We really look for the kids to use their imagination with the Lego in front of them."
Competitors will have 20 minutes to create their masterpiece from the Lego provided.
On Friday and Saturday there will be three heats for children aged three to seven, and three heats for those aged eight to 14. On Sunday there will be another four heats.
Those awarded first and second in each heat will be asked to return to compete in either the junior or senior final.
Each competitor will receive a bookmark of excellence, while first, second and third winners will be awarded a share in $800 worth of Lego.
"You're never too old to play with Lego, it's about coming in and having some fun," Mr Griffiths said.
This year due to COVID restrictions there will be 16 spaces for each heat. The event is free but people are encouraged to register by contacting Mr Griffiths on 0418 298 151.
"We do have spaces in most heats still available especially on Friday, and we will be taking some registrations on the day," he said.
