The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting temperatures above 38 degrees from Friday through to Sunday.
Orana Rural Fire Service district officer Bronwyn Waters said even after a cool start to the year there is enough fuel around to start and maintain a fire.
"Yes, there is (enough fuel around for a fire), even after the rain it dampened a little but it takes no time to dry out as it's getting hotter and the wind is around," Ms Waters said.
Rural Fire Service crews will be around all weekend.
"We will have staff around Friday and Saturday.
"It's also possibly a long weekend for some people so we will have staff but it depends on the weather as to how many staff we will have," Ms Waters said.
Ms Waters had a number of tips for preventing bush fires this weekend and for the rest of summer.
"Mowing around the house, sheds and other areas, keeping the grass short, leaving a break around crops, clear gutters and most importantly knowing what to do if a fire occurs and you must leave your property, where to go, who to contact and making sure everyone knows the plans," Ms Waters said.
After a record breaking 2020 which saw the maximum temperature reach 45 degrees, this year has been significantly cooler as the maximum temperature is only 37.5 degrees.
The monthly average is also down from 33.7 degrees to 30.4.
