Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) data shows average rainfall in the city during the month of January is 56.1mm.
On Tuesday morning the BoM had recorded rain on three of the first five days of January 2021.

In the 24 hours to 9am Saturday, 3.8mm was collected by the automatic weather station at Dubbo City Regional Airport.
A whopping 37.6mm of rain fell in the 24 hours to 9am Sunday.
Dubbo got another 8.6 mm in the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday.
The BoM was forecasting a 40 per cent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday.
It seven-day forecast as of that day also included a 30 per cent chance of up to 4mm of rain falling on Wednesday.
The rain has been accompanied by below-average daytime temperatures.
Last Friday, January 1, the top temperature was 24.7 degrees Celsius, followed by 29.3 degrees on Saturday, 29.4 degrees on Sunday and 29.5 degrees on Monday.
The average maximum temperature in Dubbo during the month of January is 33.7 degrees.
Minimum temperatures have ranged from 13.6 degrees to 19.1 degrees.
The average minimum temperature in Dubbo during the month of January is 18.5 degrees.
The BoM's seven-day forecast for Dubbo as of Tuesday suggests daytime and morning temperatures will be below-average.
It was predicting 31 degrees on Tuesday, 28 degrees on Wednesday, 29 degrees on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 31 degrees on Sunday and 32 degrees on Monday.
Morning temperatures are forecast to range from 13 to 16 degrees.
The start to January 2021 is vastly different to that of January 2020.
Top temperatures across the first five days of last January surpassed 40 degrees including a record-breaking 45 degrees on January 5.
BoM data shows 36mm of rain fell in January 2020, about half of it in the 24 hours to 9am January 7. Rain fell on nine of January 2020's 31 days.
