Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) data shows 793.4 millimetres (mm) of rain fell in 2020 compared with 211.2mm in 2019.
Average annual rainfall in Dubbo is 552.8mm.
The 25-year record for the wettest year in Dubbo belongs to 2016.
That year a total of 916.4mm of rain was collected at the automatic weather station at Dubbo City Regional Airport.

Dubbo received above-average rainfall for eight of the 12 months of 2020.
March led the way with 145mm recorded at the airport on the western outskirts of Dubbo, followed by December with 120.6mm and April 106.6mm.
February produced 81.8mm, July 82.2mm, August 39mm, September 47.6mm and October 60.6mm.
Below-average rainfall occurred in January, May, July and November 2020.
They delivered 36mm, 28.8mm, 32.6mm and 12.6mm, respectively.
In late 2019 and early 2020, dust storms were playing havoc in the western region and Dubbo.
Strong winds were blanketing communities with the remnants of land stripped bare by drought.
The dust storm which rolled into Dubbo on January 19 of 2020 made headlines across the state.
A resident of the city called it the "mother of all dust storms".
"It rolled over the top of us like a big ocean wave [and] turned day into night," she said.
On New Year's Day 2021, Dubbo's future was looking clearer and cleaner.
The BoM's seven-day forecast as of January 1 of 2021 suggests the city will be bathed in rain.
It is predicting up to 66mm of rain may fall between Saturday and Wednesday.
There is a 70 per cent chance of Dubbo getting five to 15mm of rain on Saturday through showers and a possible thunderstorm.
The BoM is forecasting an 80 per cent chance of eight to 20mm of rain on Sunday and a 90 percent chance of 10 to 30mm on Monday.
Dubbo's rain is expected to taper off from Tuesday when there is a 50 per cent chance of up to 6mm falling.
On Wednesday there is a 40 per cent chance of the city getting up to 1mm and on Thursday a 20 per cent chance of a shower.
