Five Central Western public school students were among the states highest HSC rankings, with three of those students graduating from Dubbo schools this year.

Dubbo School of Distance Education graduate Jarrod McMurray topped the state in Industrial Technology with a first place ranking in the subject.
Western Institute of TAFE, Dubbo Campus year 12 graduate of 2020 Joshua Barnes ranked second in the state for the Automotive Examination and Dubbo College Senior Campus year 12 graduate Hannah Herbert placed fifth in the state in the Primary Industries Examination.

Coonamble High School year 12 Graduate Liah Wiatkowski was among the five students from the central west to make the list after placing third in the state for the Mathematics Standard Two.
At Dubbo's Macquarie Anglican Grammar School (MAGS), Ruthvik Gundapaneni received the prestigious Dux title, with an ATAR of 96.25.
Mr Gundapaneni received a Band 6 for Biology and English Advanced.

He said he is 'really happy' with his results and is hoping to study medicine next year at university.
"I am not sure where yet but hopefully I will receive an offer when they get released in a couple weeks," he said.
"I'm very proud that I have been able to achieve this rank whilst being able to maintain a social life and continue building on the relationships I have formed with my community and friends.
"If anything, I am slightly anxious as to whether the ATAR I have acquired will be sufficient for the dream course I hope to get into.
"But... if it isn't, who says this is the end of the road for me?"

Mr Gundapaneni said he is thankful for MAGS for pushing the students to be independent individuals who are able to tackle challenges head on.
"I believe this attitude that I had developed during my time at the school was pivotal to my performance not only in the HSC but other aspects of my life as well," he said.
"I was fortunate to have teachers throughout my schooling who were diligent and always willing to provide support on a holistic level.
"Everyone, from Mrs Bramma at the front desk to Mr Mansour sitting in the principal office, had instilled many values in me which I will carry on for the rest of my life."
