The clean-up was followed by a Christmas party hosted by Mission Australia through the Department of Communities and Justice-funded Tenant Participation Community Engagement program.
Mission Australia provided a barbecue, as well as some Christmas hams and children's toys.
Resident Michaeli Gordon was very thankful for the opportunity to throw some furniture out. She was already considering getting her own skip bin to throw out a bed, washing machine and a lounge when she was told about the clean-up.

Ms Gordon said she also appreciated Mission Australia's regular barbecues. Having only lived in the street for about a year, Ms Gordon said it was a chance for her to get to know her neighbours.
A Department of Communities and Justice spokesperson said the clean-ups had been held in Alcheringa Street and the broader Dubbo area in the past few years to remove bulky waste and unwanted items.
"These potential hazards may not otherwise be able to be removed, due to circumstances such as lack of transport, or cost," the spokesperson said.
Mission Australia also used the opportunity to gather feedback on what programs and initiatives the community would like.
Tenant Participation Community Engagement program facilitator Tia Kelly said the barbecue would provide an opportunity to speak to the residents, while they had some fun in the lead up to Christmas.
"From that feedback I then generate activities or information sessions around what they want to see, or maybe some problem issues. If I see a lot of people are experiencing mental health, I might put on a mental health information session," Ms Kelly said.
She said one of the frequently-raised issues was around a need for more opportunities for youths.
"Something we have already been hearing from the community is that young people need more support in this crucial time as they develop their future direction. That's why we've partnered with TAFE NSW here in Dubbo to provide information on courses community members can get involved in," Ms Kelly said.
