With hot weather causing Santa to swelter on the first Saturday, the second was very different with pets and their owners from all around Dubbo visiting Ollie Robins Oval to join it the fun.
Rotary Club of Dubbo president Carla Pittman said the event was well received by everyone who attended.
"Previously I've taken my dogs up to Pet Barn, but a few months ago when we found out they probably couldn't do it this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions, and being indoors, we thought we could organise something instead."
Ms Pittman said it was unanimous after this year's event they would look at another one.
"It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to raise some funds for the RSPCA as well. They have been doing a lot of work this year, but haven't had the chance to fundraise much, so this helped them out as well.
"It was wonderful to meet the dogs and the owners as well, and even just to hear some of the stories behind the pets that were there. So many rescue dogs who have now just blossomed and live with wonderful families and are just so loved."
Ms Pittman said in a year where pets have been great therapy for many people they just couldn't have them missing out at Christmas.
"I can't imagine my life without my pets, and it's so important for people to have an outlet to do something positive with their pets."
