Retained firefighter Penford Feo was presented the Excellence in Community Engagement award on behalf of station 401 by FRNSW Assistant Commissioner Rob McNeil.
Mr Feo created the stations online open day experience video, which according to station commander Captain Ewen Jones "was a huge hit".

Assistant Commissioner McNeill said with no physical engagement possible FRNSW took a "bold new step" to combat the impact of COVID-19 on community safety before their dangerous winter fire season.
FRNSW open day for 2020 was showcased via brigades online social media channels for the entire week to help increase awareness and convey important fire safety messages.
The week featured live Q&A sessions, station tours, demonstrations and pre-recorded content, which had underlying safety messages.
Assisting Commissioner McNeill said delivering the project online allowed FRNSW to target at-risk communities and increase exposure to fire safety across these groups.
Over 3 million people were reached on social media, with 300,000 people engaging with posts, according to FRNSW.
"401 Station Narromine is commended for the excellent contribution reducing risks in its community and helping achieve these outstanding results for open day 2020," Assistant Commissioner McNeil said.
