Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 20-year-old man at a home on Brough Street in Cobar, about 12.30pm on Wednesday, August 19.
The man was taken to Cobar Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, two counts of break and enter, supply stolen firearm, possess ammunition, possess unauthorised pistol, not keep firearm safely, and handle firearm under the influence of a drug.
He was bail refused to appear before Bourke Local Court on Thursday.
Central North Police District Commander Superintendent Andrew Hurst said the arrest serves as a reminder to anyone thinking of engaging in criminal activity.
"This arrest comes after some fantastic work by detectives in locating the man we allege is responsible for a number of significant offences," he said.
"This doubles as a reminder to the public to make sure homes are locked and secured, security systems are installed and activated, cars are locked and to conduct responsible firearm ownership.
"We rely on the public to report suspicious behaviour, and to report any property that has been stolen so we can investigate appropriately."
