She has always wanted to shave her head for a special cause and the time finally came on June 26 when her hair was lopped off as part of the World's Greatest Shave.
Ms Ulgiati raised more than $4200 which will all go towards supporting the Leukaemia Foundation.
When reflecting on how much it has meant to be a part of the World's Greatest Shave fundraiser, Ms Ulgiati told about a special moment she had after running into someone directly affected by Leukaemia.
"I ran into a lady in town and she said 'oh you shaved your head! Did you raise money?', I told her that I did and how much and she said 'well my daughter over there you've raised money for her because she had Leukaemia," she explained.
The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national organisation representing the needs of all people living with blood cancer in Australia.
Ms Ulgiati's partner Daniel Schaefer shaved her hair at a special fundraising night at his barber shop Too Tapered, which was attended by family and friends.
She said it was a really fun evening which was well supported by local businesses.
CSC donated a platter and Taylor Radford also donated her makeup artist skills for Ms Ulgiati's fundraiser.
Ms Ulgiati thanked everyone for their donations and support during the fundraiser.
"There's been so many people getting involved because they've been affected by it... it has been really nice for everyone to come together," she added.
Having her hair shaved off "feels normal" for Ms Ulgiati and she encourages everyone, especially females, to do it at some point in in their life.
She said not only are you doing it for a great cause but it is also a freeing experience..
"At first I kept forgetting that I had done it and I would walk past a mirror and see my reflection and I would be like 'oh!'," Ms Ulgiati said.
"But it is just the best feeling..."
