Warren's 97-year-old war memorial will get a facelift with $10,000 from the federal government's Saluting Their Service commemorative grants program.

Warren Shire Council will use the grant to refurbish the granite memorial, which was unveiled in May 1923.
The council will also get $2000 to install three flagpoles in the Warren Memorial Park, which will enable the Australian, Aboriginal and New Zealand flags to be flown on appropriate occasions.

Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said Warren and communities across Australia had benefited from the latest and $2.2 million round of the program.
"These projects will play an important role in educating future generations about the service and sacrifice of Australian servicemen and women, especially as the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II on 15 August approaches," he said.
