The driver allegedly failed to stop, and a pursuit started, but police lost sight of the vehicle.
About 8.50am the same day a 25-year-old man reported the vehicle to be stolen.
Further inquiries were made, and the man has been charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, and false representation resulting in police investigation.
He is due to appear Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, July 1.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old woman was arrested on Friday following an alleged pursuit in Broken Hill just after 9pm.
She was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.
She was refused bail and appeared before Broken Hill Local Court on Saturday, where she was formally refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Thursday, June 11.
NSW Police are targeting speeding, drink and drug driving, driving while fatigued, mobile phone use and other traffic offences across the long weekend with Operation Stay Alert.
On Saturday, the first day of the operation, there were 1841 seeding infringements issued and more than 27,000 breath tests undertaken across the state.
