The website ART e-Parties has been developed as an online platform for artists to share their work. The first event, F50, will include a week of art and live-streamed events.
The announcement will be livestreamed on Thursday, April 30 on Facebook and Instagram at 8pm.
"Twenty-eight artists are offering up more than 60 works of art across many art forms for F50, set to open on 30 May in a week-long rolling program of uploads and live-streamed events. It's by no means a comprehensive collection of artists, but a great snapshot of what I'm connected to and tapping into at present," Ms Goldsmith said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The idea was developed in response to the cancellation of events due to COVID-19 restrictions. Ms Goldsmith had initially been planning to spend her birthday at Dark Mofo in Tasmania.
Instead, she decided to create an online festival.
"This was always going to be very personal - an indulgence, even with the application of a curatorial framework and deadlines...but what an incredible way to celebrate a birthday," Ms Goldsmith said.
"All the F50 artists are professional, dedicated creatives whose practices have either inspired mine or whose work I greatly admire. Some are having a tough time of it in the current circumstances, so I hope this also assures them they're valued."
