Small businesses in the Dubbo region can have their postage paid by Dubbo Regional Council.

To help in the lead up to Christmas, council is offering to pay the postage for locally-owned small and micro businesses between November 21 and December 5.
Council will also use the postage as a way to market to those outside the region. Participating businesses will provided with postcards to send with the packages showcasing the Great Big Adventure Pass.
The Gift Closet owner Kristen Smith said people were watching every dollar they spent in the drought, but free postage might encourage them to buy more.

While for Angela Hutchison who owns Wellington business Ang&Co, the money she will save on postage costs will go towards her rent.
"This is our second income. My husband is a farmer and we've been doing it quite tough for three years, our farm income has been significantly reduced over the last three years," she said.
"Every person who buys from me, is supporting me, and they're contributing to an actual living family that is trying to survive through the worst drought in living memory."
Mayor Ben Shields said he strongly encouraged businesses to sign up to the council Christmas initiative. He said it would held to build local businesses while giving an extra incentive for people to spend in the region.
