Local community groups are cheering after more than $128,000 was given out by Dubbo Regional Council.

Thirty community groups received money under the Community Services Fund and the Financial Assistance Program.
The largest cheques were awarded to Connecting Community Services (formerly the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre) and Wellington Information and Neighbourhood Services with $30,000 apiece. The funding trickled all the way down to the $300 for Wellington VIEW Club.
The Dubbo Division of Orange Legacy was granted $3000. President Annette Priest said the money would be used to help widows remain in their own homes.

The Dubbo Division of Orange Legacy currently has 125 windows in its care and 27 Legatees that provide assistance for them.
Ms Priest said the money would be used for a range of needs from lawn mowing to installing safety measures like hand rails.
"We only have one fundraiser a year which is Legacy Week, the rest we have to get through funding," she said.
"We're absolutely delighted Dubbo Regional Council supports so many local groups."
The Lifeline Central West Dubbo Centre received $15,000 through the Community Services Fund.
Lifeline Central West's Alex Ferguson said it was no surprise times were tough and Lifeline had received a large number of calls. However, Mr Ferguson said he was very impressed Dubbo Regional Council was supporting mental health.
Dubbo Regional mayor Ben Shields said the community groups all played a role in strengthening the social fabric of the region and bringing people together.
The funding was awarded to groups in the local government area that provide social, cultural or environmental benefits to the community.
