About 5.45pm Monday three 12-year-old girls were walking along Booyamurra Street when a ute stopped in front of them.
Police were told a man was the only person in the ute and he allegedly wound down the window and spoke to the girls.
According to police, the girls ignored the man and immediately reported the incident to their parents who notified police.
The man is described as being around 50-60 years of age with fair skin.
He reportedly had a full beard with no moustache and at the time he was driving a blue four-wheel-drive dual-cab utility with a canopy on the back.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers are investigating the matter.
