"I'm pretty excited, it probably hasn't really sunk in yet," Archer said.
"It's such a big, competitive field, you're dealing with all the golf clubs across NSW and the ACT, so there are some bigger clubs out there than Dubbo, obviously, with much bigger budgets, so it's quite an honour."

The award was given to Archer for his work in overseeing the club's financial turnaround in recent years, with a number of renovations, improvement initiatives and surges in membership in recent yeras.
"It was definitely around the financial improvement the club's seen, but also the growth in membership and grant funding, the improvements we're making to the club house, I guess everything that we're doing just shows them that we're on the right track," Archer said.
"A few years ago, the club was in a really bad spot, so to have all these wonderful things happening; the new irrigation, the new lift, the clubhouse renovations and us hosting the 2020 NSW Women's Open, it's fantastic."
The club has seen a number of financial difficulties across the recent years, but a number of policy changes helped strengthen the club's standing and paved the way for a number of ongoing renovations.
"Initially, the biggest challenge was finances, the club was in a bad position," Archer said.
"But we've communicated well with our members to get them to understand where we are, restructuring has been the biggest challenge, but the membership has really come on board and seen what we're trying to achieve and supported it."
While the award was specifically for Archer, he noted that there were a number of other figures at the club who had contributed to renewal efforts at the club.
"It's a real tribute to the board and the members and my management team that we're all working together towards that common goal."
"Laken Carrett, our operations manager, we couldn't have achieved anything we've done without her support and taking over day to day operations so that I can be the big picture thinker."
As part of the prize for winning the category, Archer will now be invited to travel to an international club management conference held in Dallas, Texas next year, an opportunity too good to pass up.
"That'll be very exciting, getting to go over there and see what international clubs are doing, I've always tried to get us into a best practice sort of scenario, so to see how they do it will give us that edge again."
There are still a number of ongoing renovations being conducted at the club, with more to come, but Archer is optimistic that within the next three years the club will have made significant changes to the grounds and facilities.
"It's a bit of wishful thinking having it done in the next three years, but we're working towards having a more intimate space on the top floor where the members can enjoy that kind of area, look over their golf course and enjoy golf as it happens."
