Since 2015/16, there have been about 1100 parking fines issued in the Dubbo local government area each year. In 2015/16 there were 1134 fines - the equivalent of almost $140,000 - followed by 1166 the next financial year and 1185 for 2017/18.
But, that figure has had a big jump in 2018/19 with about 500 extra fines.
Despite the increase, motorists in Dubbo are getting hit with significantly less fines than Bathurst or Orange.
Orange drivers were hit with more than $1.1 million in parking fines during 2018/19. There were 7791 parking offences, or about 21 every day.
During August and July alone, Orange City Council issued more than $215,000 in fines, or 1644. It's almost the same as Dubbo's entire year.
Bathurst drivers weren't nearly as bad. They were issued with 2265 parking fines during 2018/19, or the equivalent of more than $310,000.
Revenue NSW says there are two reasons a motorist can request a review of a parking fine: if they believe there has been a mistake in issuing the penalty notice or if there are other reasons that contributed to the offence.
Once a review has been undertaken there are three possible outcomes.
The first is that the penalty will stand and the driver must pay the fine or take the issue to court if they still disagree.
Another option is that is will be determined the driver did commit the offence, but due to the circumstances they will be cautioned rather than fined.
"You won't have to pay anything and won't lose any applicable demerit points. If it was a driving offence we will record the caution on your driving history," Revenue NSW said on their website.
If the review finds the fine was not issued correctly or does not properly disclose the offence, the driver will not have to pay the fine and there'll be no demerit points.
More information on parking fines, including how to undertake a review, is available on the Revenue NSW website.
