A man who allegedly provided a false identity to police and led them on a foot chase towards the Castlereagh River in Gilgandra was refused bail in court this week.

About 10.15am on Sunday July 21, 2019 police were patrolling the Gilgandra township on unrelated matters when they stopped a 23-year-old man at a local park.
Police identified the man and revealed he had four outstanding warrants.
The man allegedly ran from police and they gave chase along the sand flats, and after a lengthy foot pursuit both in and out of the river, the man was apprehended.
He was arrested and charged with resist police and hinder police.
The man was bail refused at Dubbo Local Court on Monday July 22, 2019 and will reappear at Dubbo on Wednesday September 4, 2019.
