The Rams had an "amazing" start to their game last weekend for round 14 of the Waratah League, Division One Men's 2019 Competition according to captain/coach Damien Reid, but it wasn't quite enough for the Rams' to take out the win against the lethal Lithgow Lazers.

The Rams played on home turf on Saturday and played the first two quarters of the game strongly.
According to Reid, the Rams first half discipline faded out for the last two quarters, and the Lazers ultimately took out a 101-74 victory.
This is the Rams' second loss to the Lazers, after the round two away game earlier in the season, where the team were defeated 99-79.
Despite losing twice to the Lazers, statistically, the Rams' seem to perform well against Lithgow, with both games holding the sides highest end game scores of 79 and 74 for the 2019 season.
Reid says he was still happy with the Rams' amazing start to the game, saying the players had executed their offence exceptionally well.
"We went into halftime with a slight lead," Reid said.
If the Rams kept up the discipline and momentum they had shown in the first half of the game, Reid's confident they could have taken the win.
"We came out after halftime and failed to play with the same discipline and intensity we showed in the first twenty minutes," Reid said.
"And we were totally outclassed in the second half."
According to Reid the Lithgow side has a lot of talent, and considering the margin was only 27 points between the teams, it was a pretty good effort.
The Rams gave considerable court time to import, Rob Dewar, during the game, who was "as solid as always," according to Reid.
Dewar scored a game-high of 46 points, which the Reid said came as no surprise considering his consistent season performance.
Reid said other players on his side to show great promise for the Rams during the game were Rohan Birrell and James O'Neil, who are both among the youth on the side.
Reid said the duo played well considering they were up against some talented Lithgow opponents.
"Being young they still have a lot to learn about the game, and what they can do to have a positive impact," he said.
"But they both have what it takes mentally to be able to compete at this level.
"They need experience and time to mature as players."
Both players, Birrell and O'Neil, contributed points to the Rams' 75 end score. Birrell bagged five, and O'Neil took out three of his own.
The Rams' will enter the 'Snakepit' this weekend for round 15 when the team travels to Beaton Parks Snakepit Stadium for the sides away game against the hungry, first-on-the-ladder, Illawarra Sharks.
