The under 12s girls side was one of five Dubbo Basketball Association junior teams playing in the finals.
The team took out a strong lead, winning 49 to 24 against Bathurst in the Grand Finals.
According to coach Claire Hargreaves the team was a force to be reckoned with.
"The girls played tough, worked together and never let Bathurst into the game, winning 49-24 a very dominating performance from the team," she said.
"The girls played well, with fantastic defence and everyone playing a part."
"They took out a strong win by 20 points in the Semi Finals," Hargreaves said.
The team was led by Captain Millie Sutcliffe and top age players Kiara McKeown and Tayla Mongan.
According to Hargreaves, the under 12s girls knew they had to play strong to take out finals.
"The 12 girls played Bathurst in Round three last month and won the game by only three points," Hargreaves said.
"This resulted in the girls progressing straight to the Grand Final which was played at 8am Sunday morning against Bathurst again.
"The starting 5, Millie Sutcliffe, Kiara McKeown, Tully Pickering, Tayla Mongan and Alaqua Thompson led the way playing tough defence making it very hard for Bathurst to get a run.
"Super subs Jazzy Gordon, Clancy Toshack, Mia Richardson and Cyarah Hargraves continued with the commitment to defence resulting in the girls dominating all four quarters.
"We set a goal at the start of the season to make it to the Grand Final and we did.
"The way the girls played was amazing, they did everything we asked of them and every single player gave 110% when they hit the court.
"Co-Coach Gabi Herbert and I were very proud of the team, and now we set our sights on the Country Champs in June."
They now progress through to the State Championships in late August for the opportunity to play the best teams in the State.
Millie Sutcliffe was awarded the MVP of the game, and according to Hargreaves it's a very well deserved title.
The under 12 boys coached by Adam McDermott weren't as lucky as the under 12 girls side.
The boys lost their semi final, going down against Gilgandra by seven points.
"The last time the two teams played the Dubbo boys lost by 25, so they showed a huge improvement," Hargreaves said.
However it was Gilgandra who ended up winning the Final.
Under 16 boys also lost the Semi Finals to West Wyalong 66 to 49, then lost again in Grand Finals to Narrandera 92 to 56.
"Special mention to our under 12 and under 16 men who field a team of all bottom age players. They will definitely be teams to watch next year," Hargreaves said.
Despite Dubbo having a height advantage, the under 14 Girls also lost their Semi Final to Bathurst by just one point in a very physical encounter.
