It was the driest April in the past 24 years.
There was only one day of rain during the month. There was 6.8mm of rain recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology on Sunday, April 14.
The average rainfall in April in Dubbo between 1993 and 2019 is 31.4mm.

However, according to the BOM, April rainfall was 58 per cent below the average across NSW.
The Department of Primary Industries' Combined Drought Indicator shows all of the Central West is still in drought.
There is 20.4 per cent classified as drought affected, another 72.2 per cent - which includes Dubbo - is in drought and the final 7.4 per cent is in intense drought. The areas in intense drought area primarily in the Coonamble area.
Across NSW, just 0.3 per cent of the state is considered to be non-drought by the Combined Drought Indicator. Another 0.6 per cent is recovering.
A small amount of rain is forecast in the coming week. Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday all have a 10 per cent chance of rainfall.
If Dubbo is to meet the average for May there will need to be 39.9 mm of rain.
So far the only rain came from Friday when 1.8mm was recorded by the BOM.
