Luke Peter Cass, of Gilgandra, rang a woman on February 4, to ask if she would drive him from Dubbo to Gilgandra.
When she refused he kept calling her and others throughout the day.
"I'm going to steal a car or do an armed robbery and I am going to come out and burn the village down and kill...," Mr Cass said.
Mr Cass admitted he made the threats when he faced Dubbo Local Court on March 12.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of stalking or intimidating with the intention of causing physical harm.
"The threats were quite serious but the accused had little prospect of carrying them out," Magistrate Theresa Hamilton said as she noted Mr Cass had drug abuse problems.
He was placed on a community corrections order for 18 months.
