The Hear Our Heart Ear Bus Project provides free hearing tests to children across the region. They also travel to schools to teach prevention and awareness of otitis media and hearing loss.
Hear Our Heart media officer Virginia Redenbach said she was still waiting to know the amount raised from the day, but said it had been 'successful'.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
There was some light rain during the golfing afternoon, but it didn't dissuade anyone from getting their clubs out.
Unfortunately, Ms Redenbach said no one scored the $10,000 from BurMac Financial Services for getting a hole-in-one. The closest shot was four metres away from the hole, she said.
The event was held on St Patrick's Day and participants were encouraged to dress up. After the 18 holes they were also treated to some Irish dancing and afternoon tea.
Ms Redenbach said Hear Our Heart received no government funding, which made fundraisers and awareness of the organisation important to allow their work to continue.
She said hearing loss affected a child in more then just their ability to hear. It created a domino affect that impacted on their school work right up to their job, Ms Redenbach said.
