The senior girls held a lunch, inviting all female staff at the senior campus.
More than 25 staff members attended, and students recognised their work and their dedication to their education by presenting each with a gift.
Dubbo Delroy Girls Academy celebrated International Women’s Day later in the week with a morning tea held during recess, for all students and staff.
The year nine cafe class cooked up a storm for the event, and the opportunity hub ran an activity in which students made paper butterflies featuring the names of important women in their lives. The butterflies were put together to create a heart that is being displayed at the school.
The Australian theme for International Women's Day 2019 was More Powerful Together, recognising the importance of working in collaboration to create a world where women and girls everywhere have equal rights and opportunities.
