TWO teenagers have been charged with a string of offences following a recent break and enter.

At 3.30pm on February 28, officers attached to the Orana Mid Western Police District were alerted to an alleged break and enter in progress at a home in Parkes Street, Wellington.
"Police responded immediately and sighted the youths, being a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, who ran off," officers said in a statement.

"Police gave chase and located the youths in a vacant premises where they were arrested and taken into custody.
"Investigations revealed that both youths were alleged to have been involved in a number of offences including break and enters and stealing of a motor vehicle."
The 14-year-old also had warrants for his arrest and was subsequently charged with string of offences, including: failing to appear at court; armed with intent; stalking (x two); malicious damage (x two); break, enter and steal; larceny; aggravated break, enter and steal (x three); trespass; and steal motor vehicle.
"A number of these offences taking place in the Wellington township over the past few days," officers said.
The 13-year-old girl was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act, while the 14-year-old was bail refused by both police and the court.
