She travelled the five-hour drive from her home in Bungendore with her children Meg, 11, and Jack, 8, to attend Victoria Park for the Picnic in the Park on Wednesday.
The trio arrived early and had a front row seat by 7am ahead of the scheduled visit by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at 11.30am.
“This year has been a year of writing to the royals,” Ms Pailthorpe said.
“Our hallway is filled with replies from the royals, Camilla is the best.”
Ms Pailthorpe was encouraged to write letters to the royals by her father and penned her first letters to Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth in 1989.
“Dad always encouraged us to write letters and draw pictures,” she said.
Since then she has passed on her love of letter writing to her children and they regularly write and receive letters from the royals.
