Andrew McDonald Commercial Dubbo was tasked with marketing and selling the former wedding and functions venue after it went into receivership in April, leaving brides-to-be distressed and out of pocket.
The property went to auction on May 24, but was passed in at $1.8 million when the bidding failed to reach an undisclosed reserve.
Andrew McDonald said “several” parties were still interested in the property.
“We’ve certainly got one or two very serious parties, and part of the delay is they have been doing further due diligence before they decide if they’re going to offer any more money,” Mr McDonald said.
“There was a lot of interest prior to the auction. There’s been further inquiries since, probably at least half a dozen or 10 inquiries since the auction and in fact we had another inspection as late as Friday.”
The property includes a four-bedroom and three-bathroom residence, night manager’s residence, two function centres, two bars, two kitchens and 14 luxury safari tents that can be expanded to 31.
“It’s a business opportunity … the foundations are there for someone to try and turn that into a successful business,” Mr McDonald said.
He said he would continue to market the property, and maintain contact with the interested parties.
“It’s business as usual until we get someone up to a price that the mortgagor is ready to move on,” he said.
“Until we get enough money, we’ve still got a mortgagor and receiver that we’ve got to report to.
“They’ll want us to exhaust any interest we’ve got and hopefully a sale can be achieved.”
