The winners of the 2016 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards have been announced. The awards celebrate outstanding literary talent in Australia. The Natural Way of Things by Charlotte Wood and The Life of Houses by Lisa Gorton were both awarded first prize for adult fiction. A prize winning poet, Gorton is the grand daughter of former Prime Minister John Gorton. The Life of Houses is her debut novel. Acclaimed author Sally Morgan was awarded first prize for children’s fiction for her book Sister Heart, while A Single Stone by Meg Mckinlay claimed the top prize in the young adult category.

Every Tuesday morning at the library is “Tech Tuesday.” Simply come into the library between 10am-12noon. Staff will be on-hand and available to answer questions and provide hands-on help. Boldrewood Winners
The winners of the 2016 Rolf Boldrewood Awards were announced on Saturday 5 November. Roger Vickery was awarded first prize in the prose category for his entry Fitzy’s Complaint, and Mark Miller was awarded first prize in the poetry category for his entry Drought and Flood.
