The rooms are in their final preparations and the conference room set with that familiar new smell almost ready to invite visitors in.
Sheree and Lee Bennett are making the move from Newcastle and said they were excited to bring their young children out west.
"We owe it to Dubbo to come here and relocate, it’s a growing city, there’s lots happening and we don’t want a business without the relationship," Mr Bennett said.
The new addition to Dubbo is a family affair, with Mr and Mrs Bennett co-franchisees with Sheree’s sister Jill Burton and her husband Daniel.
Jill and Daniel will largely remain based in Newcastle but are excited and ready to enter the hotelier industry.
"I’m a schoolteacher but have been doing account work for a while, but Daniel’s been a builder which is strenuous work, and we were just after a bit of a change," Mrs Burton said.
"We just saw an opportunity there to come on board and we wanted to be a part of it," Mr Burton said.
Mr and Mrs Bennett have also owned the Maitland franchise for five years, winning the state’s best franchise award two years running.
Their experience for Quest spans 19 years as employees and franchisees, but it didn’t mean they had their say on the decor.
"We don’t have any input at all, it’s preselected with the developer and we just have to hope it looks nice, but we’re glad it is here," Mrs Bennett said.
Wooden furniture in the living space and chrome whitegoods in the kitchen dominate in each apartment.
With studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom options, neutral couches and carpet in the living space compliment the blue and purple-printed cushions and crisp white quilts in the bedroom.
Sixty-five rooms spread across three levels, alongside conference, gym and barbecue facilities.
The cafe/restaurant space next to the reception is yet to be leased, with Andrew McDonald of Andrew McDonald Commercial Dubbo saying that’s still a long way off.
"We have had representatives from Quest in Melbourne liaise with us while meeting a few potential candidates.
"We would be hoping for a signing from someone in early 2012, the kitchen won’t be fitted before the New Year anyway," he said.
For now, the team is happy as the final countdown begins.
"There’s a good vibe around the town, everyone’s really excited," Mrs Bennett said.
"The people that I’ve met have all been so friendly and inviting, it’s a breath of fresh air to meet great people and we feel like we’re at home," Mrs Burton said.
