Dubbo Labor neglected by Sydney

Pig-farmer from Peak Hill, Colin Norris, president of the ALP branch in Dubbo, stated his belief that the ALP had shifted into the right-wing pool of thought in its policy-making decisions.

Mr Norris expressed the view that the ALP had been “infiltrated by persons who do not have the best interests of previous members of the political party at heart.”

He said the Labor Party office in Sussex Street, Sydney, particularly had rarely responded to any phone calls or messages made by the Dubbo branch, and were “beyond reproach.”

The NSW ALP office on Sussex St declined to comment on Mr Norris’ allegations. He described himself as a man who “never sugarcoats anything” and although the emails he sent were “unpleasant”, he found it extremely rude that nobody from Sussex St bothered to respond.

“The ALP needs to be revised and especially needs to remember what it stood for in the first place,” he said. “The ALP has lost touch with its members, and has gone completely right-wing.”

He described the ALP has having an “executive cancer” that needs removal, and it needed to go back to the way it was before Julia Gillard took charge of the Labor party.

“They have lost touch with what made them into a political party in the first place.

“We used to have more than 40 ALP members here in Dubbo, but many of them have dropped off. They are disillusioned by the lack of interest in Dubbo from the Sussex St ALP headquarters.”

Mr Norris wants the ALP to start afresh and to focus on fixing their internal party problems before they can even think about making federal decisions.

“They are not intrested in any internal matters. All they are worried about is getting enough votes in the next election, and to keep the masses happy,” he said.

He said the ALP are more worried about longevity in the Australian government rather than starting afresh and returning to their grass roots.
