A fluke entry in the Dubbo Teenage Showgirl competition paid off for 17-year-old Corrina Lindner, who was “honoured and humbled” to receive her sash in front of a crowd of hundreds on Saturday.

Miss Lindner said she was coerced into entering the pageant by one of her closest friends and it ended up being one of the best decisions she had made all year.
When asked what got her across the line, the Dubbo Christian School student said the judges just appreciated her honesty.
“I was just myself, I didn’t try to put on an act or anything and I think they saw that,” she said.
After school, Miss Lindner intends to work as a special needs teacher and travel to Europe.
If she could impart a piece of wisdom on the young girls of Dubbo, she would tell them to “just be themselves and not worry about what others think
