The past year has proved to be a great one for our club with both our recreational gymnasts and competitive gymnasts meeting challenges and learning new skills.
The recreational gymnasts had their Choccie Competition in December and all the gymnasts had a wonderful time, experiencing the demands of a real gymnastics competition and being rewarded for all their hard work and talent.
The competitive levels gymnasts also had a successful year with girls going all over NSW and ACT to compete in various championships.
Congratulations to our 2010 North West Champions - Emmalie Roche, Harriet Crowley, Stacey Dyball, Jaci Dyball, Cindy Walsh for placing first overall at the 2010 North West Championships, held at Tamworth.
Harriet Crowley twice travelled to Sydney in May and qualified for the Level 7 State Championships where she performed extremely well competing against gymnasts who were members of the NSW Level 7 team.
As well, Hunter Crain and Breanna Christie represented North West area at State Championships at the State Sport Centre, Homebush Bay.
Isabelle Dunn, Georgia Felten, Meg Keizer, Amelia Kierath, Gabby Pollard, Phoebe Cusack, Cindy Walsh, Georgia Newton, Jaci Dyball, Ashlee Rowe and Emmalie Roche all represented their club at State Stream Championships with Georgia Newton placing 4th on floor and Ashlee Rowe and Emmalie Roche placing equal 3rd on bars.
Dubbo RSL Youth Club had 14 gymnasts attend NSW Country Championships in Gosford with Laura Newton placing 3rd on vault, Kirsty McDermott 2nd on vault and 5th overall, and the Level 3 team with Laura, Kirsty, Kelsey Rowe, Tahlia MacPhail and Lauren Cook finished sixth overall.
Georgia Newton placed fourth on floor and bars, Jaci Dyball placed third on floor and vault and sixth on beam. Paris Burns placed second on floor and third overall.
Stacey Dyball placed fourth on bars and fifth overall.
The Level 7 Team Ashlee Rowe, Emmalie Roche and Harriet Crowley finished 3rd overall in the Level 7-10 Teams, Harriet finished 6th on vault.
In December Dubbo RSL Youth Club Gymnastics took three teams to National Clubs in Canberra. Cindy Walsh, Kirsty McDermott, Georgia Newton, Alice Edmondson represented the club in Level 4.
Stacey Dyball, Paris Burns, Breanna Christie and Jaci Dyball represented at Level 5 and Emmalie Roche, Harriet Crowley and Ashlee Rowe representing at Level 7.
All the girls performed exceptionally well against some very elite competition from all over Australia.
Once again all the success and achievements the gymnasts have made over the past 12 months is due to a small and dedicated parent committee who ensure the club runs smoothly and also to all the dedicated and motivated coaches.
RSL gymnastics would also like to acknowledge the great work done by Pam and Brian Cooper in looking after our facilities.
Dubbo RSL Youth Club Gymnastics will be taking registrations for this year’s classes on Thursday, January 27 from 4pm-6pm at the RSL Youth Club Hall in Carrington Ave, Dubbo.
