Held back due to a clash with the NRL grand final, the
festival is now scheduled for February 4, to run at Lazy River Estate.
Not only will it show short films, it will also feature a performance by former Hunters & Collectors frontman Mark Seymour, one of Australia’s best-known singer-songwriters.
“We had good interest early on a few months back so we hope that Dubbo residents will come out in droves to enjoy what will be one of the most unique social nights out in Dubbo for a long time,” Promoter Simon Rollin said.
The Flix in the Stix short film collection spans all genres and features an eclectic mix of independently directed films, many of which have taken out awards domestically and abroad.
Also included in the mix is the feature short flick Dark Side of the Lens which was shot in Northern Ireland and recently won awards at both the New York and Canadian Short Surf Film Festivals.
Organisers have also
secured the Dubbo Convention Centre as a wet weather alternative.
An overview of some of the movies on show and all event information can be found at www.flixinthestix.com.au.
Tickets go on sale 9am on Monday through Snare’s Newsagency and Moshtix.
